John Cena suffered a defeat and pinfall at the hands of Cody Rhodes at Money in the Bank, thanks to the returning R-Truth, aka Ron Killings. Cena broke his silence about the issue on RAW tonight.
R-Truth's return at Money in the Bank 2025 shocked everyone, as it seemed to stem from the backlash that WWE faced from fans and internally within the locker room. It appeared to be a valuable learning lesson for their parent company, TKO, which seemingly only considered spreadsheets and numbers when deciding not to renew Ron Killings/R-Truth's contract.
When talking about R-Truth, John Cena said that “Truth” is a lie and that fans wasted their energy on what he considered a "side show comedian," whose greatest achievement is imitating him. He said that Truth will be spat out in a year from now.
It was ultimately what R-Truth represented to fans and the locker room. While TKO may have only looked at his high salary (relative to his 17-year veteran status), it seemed to be a move that destabilized the locker room.
It was reported that WWE President Nick Khan had to get directly involved and called Truth to resolve the situation himself. This was supposedly the only way to get to Ron Killings, as he apparently ignored other points of contact.
Following this, we saw an epic segment between John Cena and CM Punk.
