4 Things WWE got right at Money in the Bank this year

WWE Money in the Bank 2025 saw several high-profile matches go down in the Intuit Dome, Inglewood, California. While there were several highs and lows throughout the premium live event, here are four things Triple H and his team got right this Saturday.

#4. Making Seth Rollins Mr. Money in the Bank

Seth Rollins inarguably carried the most momentum into the Men’s Money in the Bank ladder match. Through multiple promos, The Visionary had made his intention to win the MITB contract crystal clear even before qualifying for the bout. Last night, he realized his vision for the second time in his career and repeated his grand success from 2014.

With the help of Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed, The Architect swept away his opponents in the final moments to climb the ladder and unhook the briefcase. With the MITB contract in his hands, Seth Rollins now has the power to win the World Heavyweight Championship back and rule WWE RAW with an iron fist.

The former five-time world champ currently commands the strongest faction in the entire roster of the company. Moreover, this further extends the path of victory Rollins had started to pave when he defeated CM Punk and Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 41.

#3. Giving Naomi the victory in the Women’s MITB match

Naomi is perhaps in the best phase of her pro wrestling career right now. The Glow’s heel turn is a hit with the fans, and her character work is turning several heads. While her heel turn started with hating on and feuding with Jade Cargill, the former two-time WWE women’s world champion has now carved a great singles persona for herself.

After defeating powerhouse wrestlers Cargill and Nia Jax, making Naomi Ms. Money in the Bank was the right decision. With how unpredictable her character is right now, it can’t be said with certainty if she will target Tiffany Stratton right away or wait for her to be dethroned by The Storm down the line before cashing in her MITB contract.

#2. Cody Rhodes pinning John Cena

The main event of the night saw Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso battle John Cena and Logan Paul in a tag team match. The former one-time tag team champions joined forces when The American Nightmare made his WWE return following his Undisputed WWE Championship loss to Cena at WrestleMania 41.

Rhodes saved Mr. Yeet from an ambush by the Never Seen Seventeen when he defended his World Heavyweight Championship at Saturday Night’s Main Event against The Maverick. It was important to give the former Undisputed WWE Champion a big win to generate momentum for his comeback, and WWE delivered it perfectly this Saturday.

The final moments of the match even saw R-Truth make a surprise interference to take out John Cena and avenge the heel turn of his “childhood hero.” This allowed Cody Rhodes to land a perfect Cross Rhodes and pin Cena for the win. With this, The American Nightmare now has a strong case to claim a rematch for the Undisputed WWE Championship down the line.

#1. Not giving Becky Lynch another loss after her WWE return

Becky Lynch finally overcame Lyra Valkyria at Money in the Bank to win the Women’s Intercontinental Championship. This was the third match between the two former allies for the belt, and Valkyria had retained the gold on both occasions. Moreover, the inaugural Women’s IC Champ also cost Lynch a spot in the Women’s MITB ladder match.

This didn’t look good for The Man, who had returned to WWE after an 11-month hiatus at WrestleMania 41. Thus, this was a must-win match for the top star. As an added detail, the Stamford-based promotion gave Becky Lynch a controversial pinfall victory where she grabbed the tights to keep her former protege’s shoulders down.

However, this isn’t the end of their feud as Valkyria lashed out at Lynch. The retaliation came in response to The Man trying to overextend her opponent’s humiliation in front of the WWE Universe by making her repeatedly raise her hand following the win. It would be interesting to see what lies ahead for both superstars after the Money in the Bank PLE.
