Bride Hard: Release date, plot, and everything we know so far
Bride Hard is an upcoming action comedy movie set to be released in theaters on June 20, 2025. Directed by Simon West, the movie follows Sam, a secret agent who blows off her chance at being maid of honor at her childhood best friend's wedding. Redemption comes in the form of mercenaries who crash the ceremony, requiring Sam to save the day.
The movie features actors Rebel Wilson, Anna Camp, Anna Chlumsky, Da'Vine Joy Randolph, Gigi Zumbado, and Justin Hartley. The screenplay of Bride Hard is written by Shaina Steinberg, based on the story by Steinberg and CeCe Pleasants Adams. Viewers can expect plenty of action and drama sequences from the movie.
Release date of Bride Hard
As mentioned previously, Bride Hard is set to be released in theaters on June 20, 2025. In an exclusive interview with People published on April 23, 2025, Rebel Wilson opened up about her experience on set and working with her Pitch Perfect co-star Anna Camp. According to her, the two of them shared a bunch of laughs, as they were always doing "stupid stuff" and pulling pranks on set.
"We don't have to try because we're always just laughing and having fun. She always makes me laugh. She's so bubbly. We had this running joke where we'd touch some of the equipment on set and we'd pretend it was really hot or it electrocuted us or something, and we'd prank the crew," she added.
Wilson also spoke about what it was like to shoot the fight scenes and action sequences in the movie. She revealed that learning combat was like perfecting a dance routine.
"It's just kind of really fun to kick a*s — or pretend to kick a*s, really," she explained.
The stunts on set landed Wilson in the hospital, as she was accidentally hit by a gun during the final days of filming.
"As we were shooting, I was like, wow, I have gotten away with — I haven't really had any injuries, apart from a bit of muscle soreness. Then on the very last night a gun was accidentally whacked across my face. At 3 a.m. in the morning, shooting the last scene," stated Wilson.

What is Bride Hard all about
In the trailer for the movie, Rebel Wilson portrays Sam, a seemingly unassuming yet super-trained secret agent, who has been hiding her true identity from her friends for several years. Sam takes on a mission during her best friend Brooke's bachelorette, missing a major part of her party. This angers Brooke, who revokes Sam's maid of honor privileges.
Nevertheless, Sam saves the day when mercenaries attack the wedding. She sheds her mild-mannered persona and unleashes her combat skills, turning the wedding into an explosive war zone. With guns and hair straighteners to her advantage, Sam outsmarts the armed aggressors while protecting the innocent guests along the way.
Between dodging gunfire, making impromptu rescues, and dealing with deceivers in plain sight, Sam must also navigate the emotional burden of telling Brooke that she has been living a double life, as well as the other bridesmaids.
