AJ Lee has been away from pro wrestling for more than a decade now. However, speculations and rumors about her return remain hot throughout the year. WWE is set to host Money in the Bank in less than 24 hours, and the former Divas Champion once again became a trending topic. This came after a SmackDown star referenced Lee, sparking speculations about her comeback.

Naomi recently made an off-screen remark about the former Black Widow in her recent post on X. Before her Women's Money in the Bank Ladder Match, The Glow decided to issue a stern warning to all her opponents. While taking a shot at Roxanne Perez, The Glow wrote, "I'm calling yo momma, @TheAJMendez," referencing the former Divas Champion and sparking buzz about Lee's potential involvement.

Well, Naomi's comment was a playful jab at Perez ahead of Money in the Bank. Considering this reference, there are very low chances that AJ Lee will appear at the PLE tonight. There have not been any recent reports about her making a return. Additionally, there has been no update on her whereabouts or interest in coming back to WWE as of late.

Fans have been waiting to see AJ back in action for a long time. If a return was in the works, WWE would have dropped various hints to hype up fans, similar to what the company did before CM Punk's historic return in 2023. Hence, the off-screen remark by Naomi is not a hint for a return of this magnitude. Also, AJ Lee is currently focused on her career as a writer.

AJ Lee to make her WWE return later this year?

AJ Lee's WWE homecoming is always a hot topic among fans. They want to see the former Black Widow come back for one final run in the company as a full-time wrestler. The speculations of her comeback have become very strong in the past year or so, especially since the shocking return of her husband, CM Punk.

This has left fans wondering if the former Divas Champion would ever make a comeback to the global juggernaut. Well, there is a high possibility that Lee may come back to the Stamford-based promotion in 2025. Since Punk's return, the relationship between him and WWE has been smooth.

The Second City Saint also revealed that he has been convincing AJ Lee to return for a long time. Meanwhile, WWE stars like Roxanne Perez and Bayley have also expressed interest in seeing the 38-year-old return to the company someday. With all these little hints and shoutouts, there's a chance fans may see AJ make an appearance later this year.

Even if AJ Lee doesn’t step back into the ring right away, just showing up to tease a final run in WWE would be more than enough to send the fans into a frenzy. However, it is just speculation at this point.
