WWE Money in the Bank 2025 has come to its conclusion with Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso emerging as the winners in the main event. One of the biggest surprises in the tag team match was the comeback of R-Truth, who attacked John Cena out of nowhere.

Fans were also expecting the comeback of Roman Reigns, who has been absent from the company since RAW after WrestleMania 41. However, the OTC was nowhere to be seen.

In this article, we will be looking at three reasons why Roman Reigns didn't return at Money in the Bank 2025.

#3. WWE could have other plans for Roman Reigns

One of the primary reasons behind Roman not making his return could be connected to WWE's plans for him. Triple H could likely have different plans for the former Undisputed WWE Champion.

After MITB 2025, WWE will be heading towards Night of Champions 2025, which will be a Saudi Arabia show. Reigns might return at the international PLE to set up his potential match at SummerSlam.

#2. Roman Reigns' return wasn't needed at MITB

Another reason behind Roman Reigns' absence at MITB could be that his return wasn't necessary for this show. Seth Rollins winning the Money in the Bank briefcase was one of the highlights of the night. Moreover, the surprise comeback of R-Truth took the internet by storm.

As a result, the OTC's return would have taken all the spotlight away from the others, especially R-Truth, had he been booked for a comeback at the California PLE.

#1. The OTC may return to cost Seth Rollins his MITB briefcase cash-in

Seth Rollins won the Money in the Bank briefcase for a second time in his career, with help from Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker.

It's important to note that Rollins & Bron Breakker were the stars who attacked the former Undisputed WWE Champion on RAW after WrestleMania 41. As a result, Reigns could return to cost Rollins his cash-in match down the line.

This would be a bigger blow to his former Shield teammate than having him lose the ladder match in the first place, and would reignite their rivalry with higher stakes.
