WWE Superstar Karrion Kross hasn’t been able to make a lot of headway on Monday Night RAW. Right now, he is targeting AJ Styles and Sami Zayn by attacking their insecurities and asking them to embrace their dark side to win championships.
The Herald of Doomsday is delivering good backstage promos and is also seeing increased fan outreach, especially after the release of his documentary. Despite this, there is a chance that this may not make him stay in WWE, and here are three signs that Kross could soon be making his way out of the company.
Karrion Kross has been building his character as a menacing heel maker for a long time. However, he isn’t a regular part of the active programming on RAW. So far, he has only managed to turn The Miz and Xavier Woods, who also corrupted Kofi Kingston.
The New Day did benefit from the heel turn and is holding the World Tag Team Championship right now. But the turn came several months after Kross had tried to violently force it on the faction, creating a disconnect between the two events.
Moreover, getting The Miz on his side gave Kross an advantage against The Wyatt Sicks, but the feud was dropped without warning after The Final Testament defeated Uncle Howdy’s crew. While this shows that The Herald of Doomsday is trying to build something interesting, he isn’t getting the push he needs from WWE and remains underutilized.
The same is visible in his attempt to turn Sami Zayn for several months, which has led to nothing so far. Lastly, his actions aren’t doing anything to improve his position on the roster. Rather, it is the wrestlers whom he turned heel that have any chance of getting any benefits.
WWE chose not to renew his contract, so R-Truth will soon be leaving the company following the end of his contract. The same will happen with Carlito in another two weeks. Considering that the Stamford-based promotion didn’t make an effort to retain two celebrated veterans who specialized in comic relief, there is little hope that a contract extension will be granted to Karrion Kross.
Given the scarce minutes he gets on Monday Night RAW, it is likely that the Triple H-led creative team may not renew his contract, which would expire sometime this summer. He was also not given a Money in the Bank Qualifying Match despite several mid-carders receiving the spot. Thus, The Herald of Doomsday is possibly in his last act with the company once again. Prior to this, the two-time NXT Champion was released in November 2021 before being called back in August 2022.
TKO has been consistently cutting the budget of WWE. Owing to this, several wrestlers were released from the company’s roster over several months. This also included Karrion Kross’ former faction members, Paul Ellering and Authors of Pain, who were let go in February 2025.
Several reports have claimed that more wrestlers would be released in the coming months, and Kross could very well be on that list. Hence, the former two-time NXT Champion could have an hourglass looming over his contract with the WWE.
It would be interesting to see what lies in the future for Karrion Kross. Especially when a lot of fans are responding positively to his character work, and his merch sales have also picked up significantly, putting him on the list with the leading stars of WWE.
