Former Turkish international Emre Belozoglu has backed Arda Guler to get better under Xabi Alonso at Real Madrid. Belozoglu, who is the current head coach of Antalyaspor, believes that the youngster is too talented to fail and will come out stronger as a result of the difficulties he has faced.

Speaking to AS, Belozoglu said that Guler is gifted and better than a lot of the youngsters in world football. He added that the Turkish star has the character to thrive after the difficulties he has faced so far at the Santiago Bernabeu. He said:

“There aren’t many players with the gift and divine talent of Arda Guler. With Xabi Alonso, we’ll see a very different and more accomplished Arda Guler. He’ll improve. I know his character. He thrives on difficulties and on overcoming them. He likes to surf the toughest waves.”

Guler spoke about Los Blancos earlier this year and claimed that he was ready to fight for his place in the squad. He said that the only thought in his head is to help the club win matches and titles. He told MARCA (via Yahoo):

“Madrid always fights to win every game and every title. We are ready to fight for the three titles, it will be exciting. I only think about playing every game and helping my team win all the titles."

Arda Guler played just 1249 minutes under Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid last season in LaLiga, contributing three goals and five assists. The Italian manager has now been replaced by Los Blancos, with Xabi Alonso taking over from the FIFA Club World Cup this month.

Arda Guler stated in March that he still believes in the Real Madrid project

Arda Guler spoke to MARCA in March and claimed that he still believes in the plan presented to him by Real Madrid. He said that Los Blancos still support him and he is grateful for the club's hierarchy and the fans. He said:

“Madrid gave me a plan and I still believe in it. I’m sure I’ll succeed at Real Madrid, I’ve even bought a house in Madrid. I work very hard and I’m always ready to play. I love Real Madrid fans, and their support means a lot to me. I’m very grateful. I came to Madrid to play and be an important part of this team. And I won’t stop fighting until I achieve that."

Guler has been linked with an exit in the last three windows, but the Turkish star is reportedly determined to stay at Santiago Bernabeu and fight for his place in the squad.
