Welcome to the WWE News and Roundup for June 7, 2025, where we unravel some of the most entertaining stories around the sports entertainment juggernaut. Today, we'll cover Bayley's appearance with her former boyfriend amid her ongoing hiatus, the possibility of Triple H punishing a major name after WrestleMania 41, and The Miz's future in the company.

Without any further ado, let's begin:

#5. Huge update on The Miz's WWE status following future uncertainty - Reports

Following the announcement of R-Truth's release, The Miz boldly unfollowed WWE on social media. The A-Lister stood by his former tag team partner, and many expected the eight-time Intercontinental Champion to be on his way out of the promotion.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (WON), the former two-time WWE Champion will head to London to host the upcoming season of American Gladiators on Amazon Prime. The shoot could take a while, and The A-Lister will be off television as he fulfills his duties as the show's host.

#4. Two major WWE names confirmed for the Queen of the Ring tournament

Last year, WWE introduced the King and Queen of the Ring Premium Live Event and introduced a proper tournament for the women's division. Nia Jax won the inaugural Queen of the Ring tournament and dethroned Bayley as the WWE Women's Champion at SummerSlam 2024.

The tournaments for both divisions are back, and two major names are set to be a part of it. In a backstage segment aired on Friday Night SmackDown, Jade Cargill and Charlotte Flair confirmed their participation in the upcoming tournament starting next week.

#3. Triple H punished major name after WrestleMania 41, says ex-WWE writer

Triple H's regime has creatively enhanced the weekly product across both brands. However, some choices under The Game's creative leadership haven't made much sense to the audience. Earlier this year, Chelsea Green abruptly lost the Women's United States Championship to Zelina Vega on Friday Night SmackDown after WrestleMania 41.

After not being featured on the show in Las Vegas, Vince Russo believes Green was punished by Triple H. Speaking on The Coach and Bro Show, the former writer claims Chelsea Green was punished by The Game for questioning his creative choices, which led to her losing the title out of nowhere.

"The next thing we know, Chelsea Green is losing to Zelina Vega and dropping the title. So, this is the chief petty officer's [Triple H] way of punishing Chelsea Green... This was a title change because Triple H is petty, and Triple H had to establish once again who's the boss," Russo said.

#2. JC Mateo's first loss on WWE television

Last month, Jeff Cobb appeared at Backlash 2025 alongside Solo Sikoa and assisted Jacob Fatu in retaining the United States Championship. Later, he was renamed JC Mateo and defeated LA Knight in a one-on-one contest with the help of Siko and Fatu at ringside.

The former NJPW star was building a hot streak in the Stamford-based promotion, but it all came to an end. On the latest edition of Friday Night SmackDown, Mateo took his first pinfall loss when Jimmy Uso rolled him up for a pin, as JC Mateo accidentally hit Jacob Fatu.

#1. Bayley spotted with long-time ex-boyfriend amid WWE hiatus

Earlier this year, Bayley was written off television a day before WrestleMania 41 Night 2 and got replaced by Becky Lynch. Since the attack, The Role Model hasn't returned to the promotion, nor has she appeared on the weekly product. Lately, the former Women's Champion was seen training to make a comeback.

Recently, she was spotted with her long-time boyfriend and ex-fiancé, Aaron Solow, amid her hiatus from the Stamford-based promotion. While The Role Model keeps her personal life a secret, Bayley dated Solow for several years and got engaged before calling it off.

While the engagement was called off in 2021, the two have been working on different promotions and remain friends. It'll be interesting to see when The Role Model returns to the weekly product.
