WWE is never going to use a two-time World Heavyweight Champion again, as per their current plans. A report has emerged on the same at this time.
Alberto Del Rio is the former AAA Mega Champion and lost his title in his match against El Hijo Del Vikingo. He got a rematch on AAA recently for the title as well. With considerable distractions and interferences during the match, Alberto ultimately lost the match. It appears that Vikingo remains the champion, and Del Rio has now lost out on his opportunity to get the title back.
As per Cory Hays of BodyslamNet on X, WWE remains adamant about not using Del Rio at all, in any role. Even though the company bought AAA, it seems that Del Rio's role in the company is coming to an end, and he won't be involved in any role on TV either.
"@BodyslamNet have learned through sources that WWE are adamant on not wanting to use Alberto El Patrón fka Alberto Del Rio whatsoever. @FightfulSelect posted a story in October 2023 regarding a higher up stating there’s no chance Del Rio returns to WWE and that seems to still be the case despite WWE acquiring AAA," he reported.
This is not the first such report, as it has been made clear in the past that the company had no plans to involve Del Rio in any programming.
With Triple H in charge of creative now, he would be the one making the decision to include or exclude the star from his shows.
