The Triple H-led WWE creative has a decision to make on the future of the major championship after what went down on RAW last night.
Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez's WWE Women's Tag Team Championship reign could be in serious jeopardy if recent reports are anything to go by.
Morgan suffered a massive career setback during a match with Kairi Sane on Monday Night RAW this week. The two women had just started the match when the former Damage CTRL member dropped her opponent with a takedown.
The move didn't go well for Morgan as she landed awkwardly on her right shoulder. As soon as she rolled out of the ring, the doctors rushed in to check on her at the ringside area. Moments later, the referee declared Sane the winner since Morgan was unable to continue the match.
Rumor has it that Morgan suffered a dislocated shoulder and could be sidelined for up to 16 weeks. Her unfortunate injury will affect some of the plans, including the women's tag team division. According to Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Radio, Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez are expected to vacate WWE Women's Tag Team Titles.
"They’re going to have to vacate those Women’s Tag Team Titles now," Alvarez said. (H/T Ringside News)
Speaking on the Busted Open podcast, Tommy Dreamer thinks Liv Morgan could still remain on TV for backstage skits with the Judgment Day while recovering from her injury.
He said WWE can turn her injury into an angle and prevent the Women's Tag Team Champions from relinquishing their gold.
"She does not need to miss time as an on-air character because of all the stuff that The Judgment Day does behind the scenes. You can play this into your storyline. You can use this injury to get her sympathy as well as timeline-wise, now you have to address the women's tag team championship. They planted seeds earlier with her and Raquel, and I think they're going to be splitting that crew up," Dreamer said.
Liv Morgan was engaged in multiple storylines before her untimely injury halted her momentum.
Is Roxanne Perez going to step up and partner up with Rodriguez in Morgan's absence? Only time will tell.
