Massive update on The Miz’s WWE status following future uncertainty

WWE will be busy hosting multiple premium live events in the coming few months, but there's a chance one superstar could be missing a few, as The Miz will reportedly take time off from the product.

Earlier this year, The Miz moved to Friday Night SmackDown when he ended his alliance with The Final Testament. However, The A-Lister slowly transitioned into Carmelo Hayes' hype man/mentor on the blue brand and took a backseat from any major storylines in the promotion.

Regardless of his role in the Stamford-based promotion, The Miz is a well-known celebrity and a two-time Grand Slam Champion in the promotion. Amidst the recent rumors regarding the uncertainty behind his future with the company, it was reported that The A-Lister was recently roped in to host a popular show called American Gladiators on Amazon Prime. According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (WON), this could be why the former WWE Champion will take time off.

The report stated that The Miz will be off to London soon to shoot for the sporting game show. While the timetable wasn't mentioned, it'll be difficult for The A-Lister to travel back and forth for the weekly product. This indicates he would be off WWE television for a while as he hosts the upcoming show.

The Miz addresses R-Truth's WWE release

The Miz has achieved a lot more than any average superstar can imagine with their run in the Stamford-based promotion. The A-Lister also teamed up with R-Truth for nearly a year and held gold together as The Awesome Truth on Monday Night RAW under the new regime.

However, Truth's release was heartbreaking for several, including The Miz. In an interview on Fox News Digital, the former two-time WWE Champion was asked about his former tag team partner's release from the promotion. While The A-Lister wasn't happy with R-Truth's release, he believes Ron Killings is a talented superstar and would bounce back on his feet.

"Obviously, I was in a tag team with R-Truth, so it's always sad to see something like that happen," The Miz said. "But I think Truth will bounce on his feet. He's a hell of a talented superstar," Miz said.

It'll be interesting to see what's next for the two-time Grand Slam Champion in the coming months.
