R-Truth made a shocking appearance at the WWE Money in the Bank 2025 Premium Live Event, just days after announcing his "release." Now, some backstage information has come to light regarding the whole situation.
The main event of Money in the Bank saw Cody Rhodes team up with Jey Uso to take on John Cena and Logan Paul. In the closing moments, R-Truth showed up in a hoodie and attacked The Cenation Leader. He then clocked Cena with the Undisputed WWE Title, leading to Rhodes getting the three-count.
Fans at the arena, as well as around the world, went wild after seeing R-Truth on TV once again, with some speculating this whole saga was a "work" all along. However, according to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, not a single person in WWE is claiming the former 24/7 Champion's departure to be a "work."
"There is not one person in WWE behind the scenes claiming that the R-Truth contract expiration was a work. Not one. Not even an 'it could have been,'" wrote Sean Ross Sapp.
Sapp added that a lot of people were upset that R-Truth was let go. Many seemingly had emotional conversations with Truth.
"A lot of people were very upset he was gone. Many had direct, emotional conversations with R-Truth. He wasn't happy that it happened. Obviously everyone like that is very happy about it now, especially when it comes to what it could mean for them in a similar situation," he added.
It will be interesting to see what the future holds for R-Truth, who is now going by his real name, Ron Killings, in the sports entertainment juggernaut. Could he challenge John Cena for his title once again? Only time will tell.
