Nick Aldis made an appearance on WWE RAW this week to fill in the position of Adam Pearce temporarily. The National Treasure made some bold decisions and even announced an AJ Styles vs. Dominik Mysterio IC Title match for Night of Champions 2025.
Amidst this, there is a surprising speculation that suggests Nick Aldis may quit his role as SmackDown General Manager and be replaced by WWE legend The Undertaker. This assumption arose after the recent comments by Konnan, where he disclosed that The Phenom was part of creative decisions at Money in the Bank 2025.
He further added that the Hall of Famer was very interested in being part of the creative team in a potentially new role in the Stamford-based promotion. For those unaware, 'Taker is already retired from the squared circle, and he wrestled his last match against AJ Styles in a Boneyard cinematic match at WrestleMania 36.
It appears that The Undertaker still wants to be part of this business but in a new role. This could be the reason why Nick Aldis potentially quits his role as General Manager of the blue brand while the Triple H creative regime moves to make The Deadman part of the weekly show. They could start by making him an on-screen authority figure before adding him to the creative team.
This angle will not only allow WWE to generate buzz about The Undertaker being the new GM but also permit the former NWA World Champion to make his in-ring return. Since making his debut in WWE, Aldis has yet to step inside the squared circle despite several hints and the occasional physical altercation.
The former NWA World Champion last wrestled at the ACW Bluegrass Con event in 2023, and following this, he made his debut as the authority figure in WWE. This means that replacing Nick Aldis will also open new directions for the National Treasure in WWE.
After the latest episode of the Monday night Netflix show, it seems that Dominik Mysterio is frustrated with Nick Aldis. After AJ Styles defeated JD McDonagh on the show, he was confronted by the other Judgment Day members. However, the veteran managed to get his hands on Dirty Dom's IC Title and later gave the same backstage to Aldis.
In response, Nick announced Styles vs. Dominik for Night of Champions 2025. Here, the authority figure also stated that he would return the gold to Dom Dom.
After WWE RAW, Dominik Mysterio took to his official Instagram account and posted a story by referring to Nick & Styles as "old bags," and told them to return his title. The words of The Judgment Day member clearly show that he is not happy with the decision of the SmackDown General Manager.
