Unfortunate news ahead of WWE Money in the Bank

WWE Money in the Bank 2025 is set to air live later tonight from Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California. Wrestling fans have been eagerly waiting for the premium live event. However, an unfortunate statistic has been brought to notice ahead of the show.

The Stamford-based promotion has faced some backlash from fans lately for its booking decisions. One major point of criticism has been Triple H and Co. sticking with their strategy of having just four or five matches at premium live events. Having fewer bouts has resulted in several stars missing out on PLE appearances.

In a recent X/Twitter update, WrestleVotes pointed out that after taking the ring later tonight at the Money in the Bank Premium Live Event, John Cena will be the only WWE Superstar to have worked all the PLEs in 2025 so far. Drew McIntyre and Damian Priest, who are not slated to wrestle tonight, were the only other stars apart from Cena to be at each premium live event up until Backlash.

John Cena was already set to show up at all the premium live events as a part of his Farewell Tour. It is surprising and unfortunate for the superstars that no one else has managed to do the same, and we're only halfway through the year.

John Cena and Logan Paul return to tag team action at WWE Money in the Bank

After defeating R-Truth in a non-title match at Saturday Night's Main Event last month, John Cena showed up during the main event to help Logan Paul defeat Jey Uso for the World Heavyweight Championship. However, Cody Rhodes made his return to even the numbers, allowing The Yeet Master to retain his title.

After the bout, The American Nightmare challenged John Cena and Logan Paul to face him and Jey Uso at Money in the Bank. The match was made official, marking The Cenation Leader's first traditional Tag Team Match since Fastlane 2023. The Maverick will also see tag team action for the first time since his debut at WrestleMania 38, where he teamed up with The Miz to take on The Mysterios.

John Cena and Logan Paul stood tall over Jey Uso and Cody Rhodes to close SmackDown last night. It remains to be seen if the duo can replicate their dominance later tonight at WWE Money in the Bank.
