WWE Hall of Famer Bill Goldberg recently gave a massive update on his upcoming retirement match in the Stamford-based promotion. The former World Heavyweight Champion will hang up his boots this year.
Last year, Goldberg announced that he would wrestle in his retirement match in 2025. Since this announcement, many people have been speculating who would be the legend's last opponent in WWE. It has been teased in the past that Bill might face a beast like Gunther after the duo's heated exchange at last year's Bad Blood Premium Live Event, but nothing has been confirmed as of today.
During a recent interview on the CarCast podcast, Bill Goldberg revealed that his ongoing training for his retirement match has been extremely tough. The legend also made a major revelation, saying that he knew the date of his last match in WWE, but it hasn't been made public yet.
"It's been really tough. I am a bi**h to deal with, period. Anyway, but you know, I know the date, no one else knows the date public wise and so at my age you obviously have to do a lot of different things to get yourself prepared for what I'm about to embark upon and I mean it's uncharted water because not many people my age have done this, right?" he said. During a recent edition of Sportskeeda Wrestling's The Wrestling Time Machine, Bill Apter highlighted that although Goldberg no longer resided in Georgia, his retirement match should still be in the state, as most of his WCW days were spent there.
"You know, he doesn't live in Georgia anymore, he lives in Texas. But all his great moments in WCW, on their TV, even if they were in another state, people looked at it as it was the Georgia-based promotion. I think that's where it's gonna be in, Atlanta."
