WWE Hall of Famer Bill Goldberg recently provided a major update on his injuries ahead of his retirement match. Da Man will be done with wrestling after his last bout this year.
Goldberg is one of the greatest names to ever step inside the squared circle. After having an illustrious career in professional wrestling, the WWE legend has decided to hang up his boots after one final match this year. Bill recently revealed that he was aware of the date of his retirement match, but it hasn't been made public as of today.
During a recent interview on the CarCast podcast, Goldberg revealed that it was extremely tough for him to prepare for his final match at the age of 58.
"I'm not just showing up to show up. I need to show up and be me, and I've tapped into me a little bit more as of late. And my training, with all my injuries and with my age, you know, it makes it extremely difficult to get prepared without going overboard," he said. [29:25 - 29:50]
The former WWE World Heavyweight Champion added that he had hurt himself several times while training in the past three months. He had seemingly injured his shoulder, biceps, and hamstring in the Muay Thai gym.
"I hurt myself a couple of times in the past three months, umm, but I've pulled back and it's really tough to have the mentality I do but to have the body that I do now and with the mileage on it and then go into the Muay Thai gym and hit the pads and not go crazy and then blow a shoulder out and blow your biceps out and, you know, pull your hamstring from throwing a high kick. It's just, there's a huge balance and I've been in the ring a couple of times, I'll be getting in the ring today, and it's just tough, man. It is tough," he added. [29:58 - 30:39]

During an interview on The Claw podcast, Goldberg said that he wanted to retire in Israel, but he was disappointed that plans were scrapped due to the country's current situation.
"I’ll do anything for my faith. Truth be told, my dream was to have my retirement match in Israel. Quite obviously, because of the surroundings right now and over the past five years, it just hasn’t been the right place to do it. I would be remiss if I didn’t tell you that I was sorely disappointed that I couldn’t do something in Israel, but retired doesn’t mean dead," he said.
It will be interesting to see who will be Goldberg's final opponent in the Stamford-based promotion.
