John Cena to lose his Undisputed Championship tonight; confronted by Uncle Howdy? 5 Things the WWE legend can do on SmackDown

Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena is expected to appear on Friday's episode of SmackDown inside the Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky. Cena is coming off a loss at Money in the Bank following the return of Ron Killings, who helped Cody Rhodes pin him in their main event tag team match.

Cena was then confronted by CM Punk on RAW, leading to their match for the Undisputed WWE Championship at Night of Champions becoming official. That means The Last Real Champion has his plate full, with the winner of the King of the Ring tournament earning a future title match at SummerSlam.

Let's look at five things The GOAT could do this Friday on SmackDown.

#5. Uncle Howdy could tease potential confrontation with John Cena

One of the themes of John Cena's farewell tour is nostalgia, with Randy Orton being his first title defense. With CM Punk set to face him as well, he only needs Edge and AJ Styles to complete his four greatest rivals lineup.

Another one that could have been a part of his final year was Bray Wyatt, who he battled in two WrestleManias. WWE could give a nod to Uncle Howdy and The Wyatt Sicks by subtly having a static screen during Cena's segment.

They could also just tease something by having the lights go out for a quick second, which may or may not lead to something later this year. Any nod to Cena's rivalry with the late Wyatt needs to happen at some point during his farewell tour.

#4. Seth Rollins could cash in his MITB contract

It's highly unlikely, but plans could change, especially with CM Punk's remarks about performing in Saudi Arabia resurfacing. One direction Triple H could go is for Seth Rollins to cash in his Money in the Bank contract on John Cena.

With Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed softening The Last Real Champion, it's going to be easy pickings for The Visionary. An angle like this could also turn Cena into a babyface again, which should be the case later in his farewell tour.

#3. Possible CM Punk confrontation

Despite being the champion of SmackDown, John Cena was able to appear on RAW and will even defend his Undisputed WWE Championship against RAW star CM Punk. That means Punk will likely come to the blue brand to continue building his match against Cena.

The Cenation Leader is expected to have a promo, and there's no better way to promote it than with another excellent segment with The Second City Saint. The two legends know each other very well, so taking shots at each other should come naturally to keep viewers glued to their screens.

#2. John Cena could send a message to Cody Rhodes

If CM Punk wouldn't appear on SmackDown, John Cena could turn his attention to Cody Rhodes, who pinned him at Money in the Bank. Granted he had help, Rhodes finally got his lick back after losing the Undisputed WWE Championship to Cena at WrestleMania 41.

The Last Real Champion will likely address his loss and take a shot at The American Nightmare for needing Ron Killings' help to beat him. He could also rattle Rhodes ahead of his Fatal Four-Way first-round match in the King of the Ring tournament.

#1. John Cena could address Ron Killings' return

As mentioned above, John Cena would likely be addressing the events at Money in the Bank now that he's on SmackDown. Cena should blast Ron Killings for costing him his match at MITB or praise him for getting himself a new contract.

Either way works because of how over Killings has been since officially getting signed to a new deal. WWE needs to capitalize on it, and a proper program with Cena amid his farewell tour is likely on the cards.
