Shortly after Kendrick Lamar performed in Toronto for the first time after his feud with Drake, a video of NBA player LeBron James dancing to Lamar's songs at what appears to be a concert went viral.
On June 13, 2025, TheNBACentel posted a video on X stating, "LeBron James spotted at Kendrick Lamar’s concert in Toronto." While the video garnered over 1 million views since the time it was uploaded, the claim accompanying it is false.
The video of LeBron James dancing is from Lamar's 2022 show of The Big Steppers Tour in Vancouver, and hence, he was not present at the GNX rapper's Toronto concert. At the time, LeBron James was accompanied by his wife, Savannah.
Additionally, the now-viral video of the NBA player is posted by a parody account, which mentions that it is "NOT Affiliated" with the page TheDunkCentral. This confirms that LeBron's video is not authentic in the context of his presence at Lamar's Toronto concert.
Notably, LeBron James and Drake had a close bond wherein the two were regularly seen attending each other's events. However, shortly after the Drizzy-Kendrick Lamar rap feud, LeBron was spotted at Lamar's "Pop Out" concert in June 2024.
After videos of LeBron vibing at Lamar's "Pop Out" concert featuring his diss track on Drizzy called Not Like Us went viral, Drake unfollowed the NBA player.
On January 7, 2025, a designer called Chris Blake Griffith posted screenshots of an alleged conversation with Drake via Instagram. In the screenshot, Drizzy reportedly compared his issues with Universal Music Group to LeBron James' personal life.
"Me and Universal is like if Nike was funding a campaign about LeBron cheating on his wife...not adidas or Reebok...Nike the company he been with since he started... my situation is not no street sh*t," the rapper's alleged text read in the screenshot.
The screenshot was leaked days before Drake sued Universal Music Group for defamation over Kendrick Lamar's diss track Not Like Us. Initially, Drizzy filed legal petitions against UMG and Spotify in November 2024. In the first petition filed in the New York Supreme Court, the rapper accused UMG and Spotify of launching a "campaign to manipulate and saturate the streaming services and airwaves."
Drizzy accused the music company and music streaming platform of using bots to artificially boost the popularity of Kendrick Lamar's diss track, which accuses the rapper of being a p*dophile. The Passionfruit rapper filed another legal petition in Texas claiming that Universal Music Group "funnelled payments" to iHeartRadio concerning a pay-to-play scheme as a ploy to turn Not Like Us into a hit track.
While the leaked screenshot posted by Chris Blake Griffith garnered a lot of attention, Drake loyalist, DJ Akademiks, took to X on January 8, 2025, to dismiss the credibility of the same, tweeting:
"This is a fake DM. Drake called buddy a Rat..... he got mad and made up some fake DM to try to make the blogs and go viral. end of story."
Additionally, Akademiks cited "THE BOY" as his source, seemingly hinting at Drizzy asking him to refute the rumors concerning his alleged text about LeBron.
While the NBA player has not commented on Drake and Kendrick Lamar's feud directly, he showed his support for Lamar's Super Bowl halftime show via an Instagram Story in February 2025.
