Barcelona are working to add more quality to their squad this summer after a stunning campaign under Hansi Flick. The German manager completed a domestic treble in his first season in charge, and is now preparing for the new campaign.
Meanwhile, AC Milan have set their sights on a German goalkeeper. Elsewhere, the Catalan side have received a boost in their pursuit of Liverpool forward Luis Diaz.
On that note, let's look at the major Barcelona transfer stories from June 9, 2025.
AC Milan are ready to offer Marc-Andre ter Stegen an exit route from Barcelona, according to Mundo Deportivo (via Barca Universal). The German custodian's future at Camp Nou is up in the air following the Catalans' pursuit of Joan Garcia.
Recent reports have suggested that the Espanyol goalkeeper is close to joining the LaLiga giants, raising doubts about Ter Stegen's continuity. The 33-year-old has struggled with injuries of late, and Barcelona are ready to move on.
AC Milan are now offering Ter Stegen a chance to secure regular football next season. The Rossoneri are preparing for life after Mike Maignan, who looks set to move to Chelsea in the coming days. The Serie A giants want the German custodian to take over the No. 1 position at the club.
Luis Diaz could leave Liverpool this summer if he pushes for a move, according to journalist Pete O'Rourke. The Colombian forward remains heavily linked with a move to Barcelona at the moment.
It was previously suggested that the Reds have no desire to let him go, despite the Catalans' interest in the player. However, it now appears that their stance could change if Diaz wants to leave.
Speaking to Football Insider (via CaughtOffside), however, O'Rourke added that the player remains settled at Liverpool.
“They are having contract talks with him right now and they’re ongoing, but maybe the only way that Luis Diaz leaves this summer is if he pushes for a move. I don’t think Liverpool will be actively pushing him out the door, they’ll want to keep him," said O'Rourke.
He continued:
“If the player maybe has his head turned by a lucrative offer from the Saudi Pro League or elsewhere, then potentially something could open up. But I just think right now, Liverpool have no plans to sell Diaz, and I think the player himself is quite content at Anfield as well.”
Barcelona reportedly want a new left forward this summer and Diaz is on their wish list.
Aston Villa have entered the race to sign Fermin Lopez this summer, according to Sport Witness (via CaughtOffside). The Spanish midfielder enjoyed an impressive campaign under Hansi Flick, registering eight goals and 10 assists from 46 games across competitions.
However, only 19 of those were starts, and he is not guaranteed regular game time at Camp Nou at the moment. The situation has added to speculation regarding his future, although his contract with Barcelona runs until 2029.
Recent reports have suggested that Chelsea have offered €75m for the 22-year-old. Aston Villa are now ready to compete with the Blues for the Spaniard's signature this year.
