Netherlands will kick on with their 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign when they host Malta at the Euroborg Stadium on Tuesday. Drawn opposite Poland, Finland, Lithuania and Malta in Group G, the Oranje kickstarted their bid for World Cup qualification with a win over Finland last Saturday.
Memphis Depay and Denzel Dumfries fired a goal each for Ronald Koeman's side as they got their World Cup campaign on the road this past weekend. The win saw them snap a three-game winless streak and they will look to build on that as they face Malta, a team they have maintained a perfect record against.
Netherlands are also unbeaten in their last eight home international matches, winning six and drawing two.
Meanwhile, their Tuesday opponents, Malta, will be looking to revitalize their World Cup campagn which has got off to an awful start. They were beaten 1-0 by Finland in their campaign opener before suffering a 2-0 loss to Poland away from home.
They did salvage a point against Lithuania in their latest outing last Saturday, settling for a goalless stalemate at the end of the 90. Having picked up just one point from their first three World Cup qualifying matches, Emilio De Leo's side are currently at the bottom of Group G.
However, there's still chance for them to revive their campaign with five games left to play.
This is a fixture that has been historically dominated by the Netherlands. They won the last two meetings with Malta by a 4-0 scoreline. This one shouldn't be too different and Malta's World Cup qualifying campaign is expected to suffer yet another setback on Tuesday.
Prediction: Netherlands 3-0 Malta
