Nikola Jokic led the Denver Nuggets with a solid 25 points, but it wasn't enough to fend off the LA Clippers on Thursday. The hosts beat Denver 111-105 to force a Game 7 despite the Serbian's all-round showing.
The Denver Nuggets superstar was a force on both ends of the floor during the marquee Game 6 showdown against the LA Clippers at the Intuit Dome. He finished with 28 points, seven rebounds, eight assists, three steals and a block. Jokic had five points on 2-for-3 shooting from the field, two rebounds, three assists, one steal and a block heading into the second quarter.
The three-time NBA MVP came into the contest averaging 25.4 points, 12.8 rebounds and 11.0 assists in five games in the 2025 NBA playoffs.
The Denver Nuggets suffered a blow in the form of Michael Malone's firing as the regular season inched to a close. But since then, they have also witnessed a new side of Nikola Jokic who has been the driving force as the team made the playoffs.
Earlier, NBA insider Shams Charania weighed on on Jokic's transformation after Malone's firing. Appearing on "The Pat McAfee Show", he said:
"When I talked to people around Denver, they've told me that Nikola Jokic is finally comfortable with the power, with the influence, and with who he is as a player. Before, we hadn't seen him as vocal but now he's showing it."
Now, it remains to be seen how far the Nuggets can go under Jokic's leadership. Their next step is to beat the Clippers in an all-important Game 7.
